Travelling to schools

Self Esteem programmes
The horses and Equine Involvement Therapist Jo Corfield have taken to the road and now offer Self Esteem classes in schools.
Jo and one or two of her horses come into schools to deliver programmes to help raise self-esteem. Low self esteem is at the root of anxiety, depression and eating disorders and contributes to the problem of bullying.
Low self-esteem, self-hatred or a lack of confidence, are often, if not always, at the root of emotional issues. Eating disorders, depression, anxiety, bullying and being bullied, and exam phobias all stem from feelings of inadequacy. Endless unnecessary problems can be avoided by simply learning how to maintain a strong and healthy self–esteem.
HopeThruhorses teaches children struggling with low self worth, how to feel confident, work on their own self-esteem and become aware of the positive effect they can have on their contemporaries, when armed with that knowledge. We work with groups and individuals.
Our programmes include learning about:
- Natural confidence
- Assertiveness without aggression
- Dealing with failure and criticism
- Acknowledging strengths and weaknesses
- Empathy and kindness
- Positive social interactions
How young people feel about themselves can affect every aspect of their lives and if we can do something to improve that for them then we are helping them find potential happiness and success.
I specialise in emotional health problems relating to poor self-worth. This is closely linked to my one to one personal image and self-esteem counselling practice.
